Interested in public health, international development and global inequalities? Passionate about community organizing, global justice and student education? Consider a Summer Internship with MEDLIFE!

MEDLIFE Summer Interns work out of our Lima office for approximately two months. Interns will provide support to our Medical and Community Development Team, shadowing on patient follow up visits, community meetings, health workshops and will help our nurses prepare for clinics. Interns will also help run summer service learning trips in Lima by assisting trip leaders in coordinating clinics, leading students, translating on site and facilitating evening discussions about topics in global poverty and the MEDLIFE mission. Interns will also gain office experience by assisting in basic administration tasks.

To be a Summer Intern you must be involved with your local MEDLIFE Chapter, applicants with strong Spanish language skills will be given priority. 

This is an unpaid position, MEDLIFE will assume costs of housing and utilities (wifi, electric, water, etc). 

Who can apply?

Current students, graduates or individuals who can commit to living abroad for 3 months in Lima, Peru.

When do these internships start and end?

All summer internships start late-May/early-June 2018 and end within August 2018.

Applications calendar:

  • Applications Open: January 22nd
  • Applications Close: February 26th
  • Interviews start February 5th until March 5th
  • Application results sent out: March 9th

Benefits:

Though this is an unpaid internship, MEDLIFE covers furnished housing, utilities, and work-related expenses for the duration of the internship. Interns are responsible for airfare and personal expenses. You will have the opportunity to have an important role in a fast-growing non-profit environment, experience vast professional and personal development, and gain unique, first-hand insight into the public health sector in the developing world.
