For Rahma, a bright and resilient young girl living in Tanzania, MEDLIFE’s timely intervention has been life-changing, starting with raising money for Rahma’s heart surgery funded through MEDLIFE’s network of supporters.
Rahma is a young girl living with her grandmother in a rural community in Tanzania who has been battling a heart condition since she was just one year old. She received a diagnosis of two leaking valves causing blood to flow inside her heart, requiring urgent surgery. Her grandmother, a widow who sells fruit to make ends meet, couldn’t afford treatment. Unsure of their next steps, they turned to MEDLIFE. Our staff stepped in to help raise the funds for Rahma’s life-saving operation. As of this month, September 2025, the funds for Rahma’s surgery have been raised, and we are waiting on her surgery date.
