Storytelling is a powerful force and one of our most essential tools as an organization. We could recite endless statistics or data points about life in the communities we serve, but telling the story of a patient or project will almost always evoke a greater connection to the person you are communicating with.
No matter what our job at MEDLIFE is, we are all storytellers. We must give a voice to those who do not have one – people who have been silenced by years of being told that their opinions don’t matter, that they are unintelligent, or that their experiences are trivial. They have a natural habit of speaking softly and only in confidence, knowing that whoever is listening (us!) is someone who truly cares. But no matter how softly their story is whispered, we can be the microphone that allows the whole world to hear them.
