We are excited to announce that our bakery education outreach program in Unión Santa Fe is officially reopening after a short three-month pause. This initiative has been created to make space for meaningful opportunities for community members, especially women, by combining skill-building, entrepreneurship, and access to streams of income. As part of MEDLIFE’s commitment to sustainable development, this education outreach program is designed to support long-term growth by empowering individuals with practical tools they can use to build brighter futures.
A Program Rooted in Opportunity and Growth
During the first phase of the bakery workshop, participants engaged in a four-month hands-on learning experience where they developed baking skills and business knowledge. Community members learned how to prepare a variety of baked goods, including traditional favorites like panetón, while also learning about pricing, selling, and managing products in local markets. What began as a simple training quickly evolved into a pathway for entrepreneurship.
Many participants were able to take what they learned and turn it into real income opportunities, selling their baked goods within their communities.
