Santa, a 56-year-old woman from Señor de Lampa in Villa María del Triunfo, had been struggling with a prolapsed uterus for years. The condition severely impacted her daily life, causing both physical and emotional distress. Thanks to the community outreach healthcare provided by MEDLIFE through our mobile clinics and follow-up care program, Santa was able to undergo a vaginal hysterectomy, a life-changing procedure that has restored her quality of life. Today, Santa is not only relieved from the pain she endured but also empowered to continue living a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Similarly, Justina, a 63-year-old woman from Tercera Etapa Pachacútec in Ventanilla, had been living with severe health challenges caused by a deteriorating reproductive system. After being evaluated during one of MEDLIFE’s mobile clinics, Justina received a hysterectomy that has significantly improved her overall health. The surgery marked a new beginning for her, as she now has the chance to live without the constant discomfort and pain that had plagued her for years.
These surgeries are not just significant for Santa and Justina; they are a powerful reminder of the importance of gynecological care for women who live in communities where access to healthcare is limited.
