Some Students Just Can’t Get Enough!

This week, MEDLIFE was very fortunate to have one more pair of hands helping out with our stair construction project. Binghamton University student Matt Caemmerer took a few days out of his South America vacation to help MEDLIFE build and paint stairs with the community of Santa Cruz. Matt first became involved with MEDLIFE three years ago by attending a Mobile Clinic in Tena, Ecuador. Since then, he has gone on two more Mobile Clinics — coming to Lima, Peru, and returning for a second time to Tena, Ecuador. We’d like to thank Matt for returning for a fourth stint with MEDLIFE, for his willingness to help in any way possible during his few weeks in Lima, and, of course, for the brute strength which allowed him to carry heavy construction materials up the steep hills of Pamplona.

We plan to inaugurate this set of stairs with the community this coming Sunday. Meanwhile, here are a few highlights from today’s day of finishing the stair project:38-1
